Rules Concerning the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists Special

| Established November 14, 2000 Revised March 24, 2001 Revised March 28, 2002 1. The Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists (JSPP) established the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists Special Award to promote plant science, and is awarded to individuals or institutions that have made significant contributions in fields related to plant science. 2. The recipient may be of any nationality, though the research and projects submitted for award consideration must have been conducted predominantly in Japan. 3. Candidates for the award must be recommended by the president or at least five councilors, and must submit the designated recommendation form and materials to JSPP headquarters. A committee established in accordance with the Rules Concerning the JSPP Awards Committee will discuss whether the award should be conferred upon the nominee, and will report its results to the president by the end of October. The president, through discussion with the Executive Council, will select the recipients of the Special Award. 4. The president will present the recipient with an award certificate and a plaque at the Annual Meeting. Award recipients residing in Japan will usually be invited to give a special presentation at the JSPP Annual Meeting. |
